We invite you to read our whitepaper, in which advantages of power monitoring ports in xWDM networks (CWDM, DWDM, 10G PON, NG PON, etc.) are described. Moreover, it introduces a new technology of manufacturing power monitoring ports developed by Fibrain. The technology assures much flatter attenuation spectral characteristics of such ports comparing to the standard FBT/CPL 1% or 5% couplers which are typically used for this purpose. The flatness of monitoring port spectral characteristics is important, since thanks to it each line cable channel’s power can be approximated much more accurately. Such port can be added to any multiplexer or demultiplexer independently of wavelength division multiplexing type and it does not cost more than standard power monitoring ports.
